We are honored and excited to have been accepted into two of the country’s leading clean tech communities. These are incredible opportunities for us to learn from and build relationships with current and future leaders of the clean energy industry.
Urban Future Lab (UFL) selected us for its flagship program ACRE, New York City’s leading clean energy incubator. It’s funded by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and part of NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. UFL has a great track record in supporting market ready solutions to climate change boasting a 90% survival rate of incubated startups, which have now raised more than $380M from the private markets
ACRE gives us access to many resources, including strategic advisement, introductions to industry stakeholders, marketing and branding support, and investor networks. We’ve joined their new space and are already seeing the benefits from access to grant funding and talent, and advisory from UFL’s outstanding staff. We are confident that with UFL behind us, we will continue accelerating forward as we’ve done all year.
Cleantech Open (CTO), the world’s largest clean technology accelerator program, accepted us to their 2019 summer cohort. CTO has given us four mentors with expertise in software development, finance, policy, and hardware. The program consists of eight modules this summer culminating in a pitch competition in September. We’ve completed five modules to date, and have already gleaned several key takeaways.
Since 2006, CTO has trained over 1200 early-stage entrepreneurs, helping them develop the knowledge and skills critical for building clean energy companies. CTO participants have gone on to raise a total of $1.2 billion and create over 3000 clean energy jobs.
This is shaping up to be a very busy summer, and having these two programs as development soundboards and roadmaps, has proven fruitful for our company’s growth. We can’t wait to put everything we’ve learned into practice!
